Sir Paul McCartney
It’s always a good day when I’m with Sir Paul :)
We did an interview this week that will air next month or April… It’s a secret :)
Paul has so much energy, one would never know he is 78 !
To work with Paul is such a pleasure. He hand picks his crew and all the people around him and I’m honored to be in his circle.
I can’t even describe how down to earth Paul and his lovely wife Nancy are.
The beard is growing on me :) No matter what he remains humble.
Life is good !
Yoko Miwa
What a fun day with this amazing woman.
Internationally acclaimed pianist/composer Yoko Miwa is one of the most powerful and compelling performers on the scene today. Her trio, with its remarkable telepathy and infectious energy, has brought audiences to their feet worldwide. Their latest CD, 2019’s Keep Talkin’, showcases Miwa’s fine playing and artful compositions and the trio’s uncanny musical camaraderie. DownBeat gave the recording four stars, calling it “a beautifully constructed album” and noting “the drive and lyricism of a pianist and composer at home in bebop, gospel, pop, and classical.” JazzTimes also reviewed the album favorably, praising Miwa’s “jaw-dropping degree of technique.” The album enjoyed seven weeks in the top 10 on Jazz Week’s charts, much like its predecessor, Miwa’s 2017 release Pathways, which also made Jazz Week’s top 10 for several weeks.
LOVE her!!!
Rachel Dratch
Mo Williams’s All Star Storytime!
What a fabulous event at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC.
Mo Williams has written several children’s book & brought a few of his celebrity friends to read them and act out the role.
Willems first became interested in cartoon art when he was just a child. When he was 3 or 4 he started to draw and create his own characters. Willems enjoyed writing stories about his characters to share with others. However, he was disappointed when adults would praise his work out of politeness. To fix this dilemma Willems started writing funny stories. He knew that even polite adults could not fake a laugh. So when the adults laughed he knew his story was good and if the adults still gave polite comments then he knew his story was bad.
The celebrity friends that were there and I had the honor to work with are:
Anthony Anderson
Yvette Nicole Brown
Rachel Dratch
Cameron Esposito
Tony Hale
Greta Lee
Thomas Lennon
Joey Mazzarino
Natalie Morales
Fred Newman
Oscar Nunez
It was a beautiful day at The Kennedy Center … The Watergate Hotel was pretty awesome too :)
Tony Bennet & Diana Krall
This was a fun week promoting a new album with Tony Bennett & Diana Krall.
The title is “Love Is Here To Stay”…
All the songs are from the George Gershwin collection so you know everyone is a hit!
These two work so beautifully together and their love for one another shows even on the album.
I just love Old School, with all it’s class and meaning in every song.
Did you know that George Gershwin died at the tender age of 38! What a genius.
It was an honor as always to work with these two talented musicians.
Life is good :)
Nicki Minaj at The VMA's
Well, this was one show that will go down in history and it was no easy task.... but I love the adrenaline rush.
Just when you think you have seen it all... BAM!!!
The VMA's are on Sunday night, Saturday at 3:30pm Nicki's stylist wanted all 8 female dancers to have 25 inch pony tails with matching bangs. Ok, I'll make that happen... No problem!
Sunday (day of show) that afternoon Nicki brought in 4 new dancers from LA which were all Asian with blonde hair.. OK still made it happen!
When we finally get to the stage, wardrobe wants us to attach METAL head gear on the crown of their heads. We probably used 3000 bobby pins to secure those pieces on! My fear was one would have flown off when they whipped their head around. Not one fell off!!!! Made it Happen!
When Nicki Minaj is on the performance list for an awards show, you know she’s going to deliver. The Queen rapper, whose new album just dropped Aug. 10, made quite a mark at the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards: she chose to stage her show-stopping performance at the Occulus.
Singing from downtown Manhattan’s Oculus, the transport hub and shopping center that opened in the World Trade Center district recently, the Queens rapper served up an energetic medley of songs from her album, opening with “Majesty” before shedding her elaborate pink cape to rap “Barbie Dreams” and one more track, dressed in golden armor.
2017 Tony Awards
Thank goodness the Tonys came back to Radio City! That is their proper home :) We were at the Beacon the last couple of years.
Kevin Spacey was our host this year & he did not disappoint. He was funny & he can really DANCE & SING!
Uma Thurman , an old client hung out in the makeup room & we had some laughs.
It takes a village to pull off this show & I'm proud to say this is my 18th year doing it.
This is my favorite show of the tear...No drama because theatre actors are so professional that drama isn't even in their vocabulary :) Which in this business is RARE!
This show just keeps getting better & better every year!
Bruce Willis
I would work with Bruce Willis any day of the week!
He is almost my favorite celebrity next to James Taylor.
Bruce just has a "GLOW" about him. His eyes literally sparkle… & how blue they are!
He has this bright aura all around him. He really has this calming effect on people.
Funny how he plays a real bad ass but he is so zen.
I guess just the kindness he showes toward me really makes me feel special. Love when people really look you in the eye when your talking to them.
LOVE Team Bruce :D
John Cena host of Nickelodeon "Teen Choice Awards"
What a cool guy John Cena is!
We were doing lots of B Roll at Viacom for his up coming role as host of the "Teen Choice Awards"….with slim and everything :D
Just before he got there he was at Good Morning America…Get this… HOLDING Al Roker over his head & doing squats.
John is a professional wrestler & actor & now a HOST!
The dude can do anything!!!!!!
It was funny to watch him try on off the rack board shorts… his thighs are HUGE but his waist is tiny.
I would never want to piss him off :D
Showtime At The Apollo 2016
Fox is reviving the long-running “Showtime at the Apollo” as a pair of specials with Steve Harvey set to host.
A two-hour version of the classic talent showcase from New York’s Apollo Theater will be broadcast on Fox Monday, Dec. 5 at 8 p.m. A one-hour special will follow in early 2017. The specials will feature elements of the Apollo’s weekly Amateur Night competition, which has been running for 82 years and helped launch the careers of artists such as James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Lauryn Hill, Michael Jackson and The Jackson Five and D’Angelo.
“Showtime at the Apollo,” featuring the Amateur Night competition and performances by established stars, aired as a syndicated television show from 1987 to 2008 and featured music, comedy, dance and other acts. Harvey served as its host from 1993 to 2000.
Saving The Rainforest @ Carnegie Hall with Gina Gershon & Jennifer Nettles
Trudie Slyler & Sting never disappoint when it comes to throwing a party to save the rainforest.
I'm honored to be a part of this show when it's in New York City @ the legendary Carnegie Hall.
There are so many wonder musical acts & all the precedes go to such a beautiful cause.
It was an absolute blast to do makeup & hair for Gina Gershon & Jennifer Nettles from Sugarland.
Both ladies were AWESOME & how HOT are they????
And can I say "Sassy" … of course in a good way :D
